Overview
Jogini Falls is the most popular short walk from Manali. The trail climbs from Vashisht through orchards to a tiered waterfall with a small shrine at its base.
Jogini Falls lies north of Vashisht village and marks the upper edge of the village lands. The water drops roughly 150 feet in several tiers down a rock face in a side valley above the Beas. The usual approach is on foot from Vashisht, past the hot springs, along a path that climbs through apple orchards and forested slopes, with views back over the Kullu Valley.
At the base of the falls is a small shrine to Jogini Mata, a local goddess, which makes the site both a scenic stop and a place of worship. Many visitors combine the walk with a dip at the Vashisht hot springs on the way back. OpenStreetMap marks both an upper and a lower fall along the stream. The path is uneven and can be muddy and slippery after rain, and icy in winter, so wear shoes with a good grip and carry water.
Stay back from the edge of the pools and do not climb on the wet rocks near the falls. Allow two to three hours for the round trip from Vashisht, and start back well before dusk.
