Cookie Policy

This page explains how BukMyTrips uses cookies and similar technologies (like browser storage), and how our travel partners use them. You can change your choice at any time.

What cookies are

Cookies are small files a website stores in your browser. Similar technologies, such as session storage, work the same way for our purposes, so this policy covers them too.

Essential

These are needed for the site to work, so they can’t be switched off here.

  • bmt_consent (cookie, about 6 months): remembers your cookie choice so we don’t ask again on every page.
  • bmt:origin-airport (session storage, cleared when you close the tab): remembers the departure airport you chose or that was suggested from your location, so flight planning keeps it as you move between pages. It holds the airport only, never your location.

Preferences

We don’t use separate preference cookies. The airport choice above is the only preference we store, and only for the current tab.

Analytics

BukMyTrips doesn’t currently run its own analytics or advertising cookies. If we add analytics, we’ll update this page and ask for your consent first.

Partner and affiliate tools

We earn commission when you book through some of our partners. With your consent, we load these partner tools:

  • The flight and hotel search from Aviasales, provided through our affiliate network Travelpayouts (loaded from tpwdg.com).
  • Tour and activity offers from Klook, provided through Travelpayouts, on some destination pages.
  • A Travelpayouts partner script loaded from emrldtp.com.

These tools are run by the partners, not by BukMyTrips, and they may set their own cookies or use similar technologies. For example, Travelpayouts explains that when you click one of its tools, a partner ID is stored in a cookie for about 30 days so a booking can be credited to us. The partners’ own policies describe what they collect:

If you choose Reject non-essential, these tools aren’t loaded and a short note appears where they would be. If you allowed them earlier and then withdraw consent, the page reloads so they stop running. Cookies a partner already set stay in your browser until they expire or you delete them.

Other services that load content

Some content comes from other providers. Your browser connects to them directly, which shares technical details such as your IP address:

Your location

Location isn’t a cookie, and cookies don’t collect your location. If you press Use my location in flight planning, your browser asks for permission. If you allow it, your browser compares your approximate position with a list of airports, entirely on your device, and suggests the nearest one. Your coordinates aren’t sent to our server or to partners, and aren’t saved; only the suggested airport is kept, for the current tab. You can turn location access off in your browser settings at any time.

How to control cookies

  • Use (also linked in the footer) to change your choice.
  • Block or delete cookies in your browser settings. The travel information on BukMyTrips works without partner cookies.

Your privacy matters

We use cookies and similar technologies to keep BukMyTrips working and to support our travel partners. Partner tools, like the flight search, may set their own cookies. Cookie Policy
